Division showdown leads to tie

GREENE – The Trojans varsity boys soccer team hosted their division rival Bainbridge-Guilford Bobcats on Wednesday, Sept. 14, in a game that would come down to every shot as the teams ended in a 2-2 after double overtime.

The halftime lead would be Greene's after Brandon Whitaker and River McCumiskey would each net a goal in the first half. B-G would enjoy a goal from Trevor Halaquist to reach the 2-1 halftime score.

It was Halaquist for the Bobcats who would knot the game up at 2-2 with another score in the second half. The teams would enter extra time before a 0-0 score was reach in double overtime resulting in an ultimate tie.

Although Greene would manage 11 shots on goal they could not muster the accuracy to land more than two scoring shots, while the Bobcats would see six shots on goal and two corners for their squad. In the net for Greene was Ryan Lohsen who recorded four saves, while B-G would see their keeper, Sean Jones enjoy six saves for his team.
