NYC couple found with stolen car on Route 17
HANCOCK - On Monday, Sept. 19, at about 8:10 a.m., New York State Police at Deposit arrested Angel Rodriguez, 43, of Long Island, and Desiree Hernandez, 25, of Brooklyn, for criminal possession of stolen property in the third degree, a class D felony.
The arrests occurred after a trooper responded to check on the welfare of a 2012 Toyota Camry that had broken down while being driven on State Route 17 in the Town of Hancock. The trooper found the vehicle to be occupied by the driver Rodriguez and the only passenger Hernandez. An investigation determined that the car had been reported stolen to the New York Police Department on August 6, 2016.
Both suspects were arraigned in the Town of Hancock court and were remanded to the Delaware County jail. Rodriguez had his bail set at $25,000 cash, while Hernandez was remanded in lieu of $15,000 cash bail. The pair's next court date is pending.
