Abi Selfridge helps roll over visiting Trojans due to superb serving
BAINBRIDGE – The Lady Bobcats hosted the Trojans of Greene on Monday, Sept. 19, where they proceeded to shut out the Trojans in fashion winning in three straight sets at 3-0.
“Bobcat's tough serving was not something Greene was prepared for. BG had a total of 29 aces for the night,” said Bobcat head coach Tami Selfridge.
Selfridge and her varsity squad only surrendered single digits in the first sets against the Trojans, winning on their home court 25-6, and 25-6.
The third set proved to be somewhat closer in score, as Greene would finally survive the onslaught of aces sent their way, as they managed a respectable 25-17 third set.
In the win for the Lady Bobcats it was tenth grader Abigail Selfridge who emerged the star in the contest when she recorded 12 aces, 17 assists, and four kills. Selfridge was followed by eighth grader Erica Selfridge with four aces, seven assists and eight kills, tenth grader Zamira Caldwell with one ace and six kills, and tenth grader Alexis Carr with four aces and three kills.
Greene did not provide any statistics for the match.
“BG has an amazing team,” said Greene head coach Mary McBride.
Up next for Bainbridge-Guilford (4-0 overall, 3-0 MAC league) they will host Deposit on Wednesday, Sept. 21. While Greene (0-3) will not see action again until Monday, Sept. 26, when they host Unadilla Valley at 6:30 p.m.
