Missed opportunities lead to a Marauders Field Hockey loss

SHERBURNE – The varsity field hockey team at Sherburne-Earlville would add another loss to their record after a slow start helped contribute to the 3-0 loss to Morrisville-Eaton on Sept. 15.
The lady Marauders would enjoy some push on the offensive end with four shots on goal in the game, however Alexis Jayson of M-E would show off her superb goalkeeper skills with four saves, effectively blanking the home team.
Down 2-0 at the half, the lady marauders corrected some mistakes during the break to close out the game, only surrendering one additional goal in the second half of play.
S-E's Lexi Jordan would stand in goal for the Marauders in the contest, recording six saves of the nine shots on goal from M-E.
“We had some good opportunities to score, but could not capitalize on them,” said Karen Murray who was filling in for an absent S-E head coach Sheila Cooman.
Up next for Sherburne-Earlville (1-5) varsity field hockey will be an away matchup against Sauquoit Valley on Sept. 21, at 7 p.m.
