Norwich Theater Company seeking public support

NORWICH - As the Norwich Theater Company (NTCI) moves into its 7th season, the Board of Directors, on behalf of the entire Company, would like to thank the Norwich and Chenango County communities for their support over the last six years.
Thanks to the generosity of local businesses and individuals, members, volunteers, and grant-making organizations, the company has acquired many resources. These resources, which include set pieces, furniture, costumes, make-up, props, sound equipment and more, have proved invaluable to the Company in bringing quality productions to Norwich.
These resources have also presented a challenge to NTCI, namely storage space. The Company is in immediate need of storage space, as their current storage will be unavailable as of October 1, 2016. NTCI is therefore asking the community for assistance in obtaining storage space for many of their physical resources. They are seeking a secure location, which is weatherproof and accessible year-round.
According to Company Vice President Sally Heim, “We are very appreciative of donated storage space to date, and hope to find low-cost or free space so that we can continue to offer affordable entertainment to the local community.”
Treasurer Richard Heim echoed this sentiment, “While our budget could potentially support a low-cost rental, donated space allows us to keep production costs and ticket prices down.” The Company is a 501(c)3 not-for-profit organization; as such, most donations to the company are tax-deductible. Alternatively, the company can offer a season sponsorship, which includes advertising, to a donor.
Mr. Heim continued, “There are many ways in which the community can help – direct donation of space, reduced rental rates, or monetary donations to offset the cost of rental space.” Anyone who can help is encouraged to contact NTCI at 607-336-7363 or via email at productionmanager@norwichtheatercompany.org.
This assistance will enable the company to continue to grow and to bring quality entertainment to the Norwich community. NTCI is proud to announce their 2016-2017 season, which will begin with Frank Capra's "It's A Wonderful Life" in November 2016, followed by an exciting comedy, "Dearly Beloved" in March 2017, and capped with the musical favorite, "Gypsy" in August 2017. Additional performances through the year are being planned.
The Norwich Theater Company was formed in December 2010, to organize and promote theatrical programs and to promote learning in theater and music arts. The company has brought many favorites to life in the Norwich community, including “Annie Get Your Gun”, “White Christmas”, “The Music Man”, and most recently, “Singin’ In The Rain”. More information about the company, performance tickets, and events can be found on their website at www.norwichtheatercompany.org.
