Maruaders hunt down Wildcats for dominating victory
ADIRONDACK – The Adirondack Wildcats hosted the Sherburne-Earlville girls varsity soccer team on Sept. 21, on what happened to be a very lopsided victory for the lady Marauders as they rolled over Adirondack 8-0.
The crushing win would essentially be over from the first half on as S-E jumped out to an early halftime lead of 6-0.
The Marauders would tack on two extra goals following the break for insurance purposes, moving them to 4-4 on the season following the win.
S-E would employ six different athletes in the scoring column as Taylor Coughlin and Tessa Cole would each net two goals a piece, followed by Carly Britton, Abby Mullen, Shay Franklin, and McKenzie Holmes who each found the back of the net once.
Due to the massive lead, S-E would see three different girls play goalkeeper – McKenzie Holmes, Emily Stanton, and Kaceylin Belush.
While in the loss Adirondack would stick with Stevissa Nellenback for the duration of the game.
Up next for Sherburne-Earlville (4-4 overall, 2-1 league) they will play on the road against Clinton at 4:30 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 23.
