Sauquoit Indians prove to be too fast for S-E

SHERBURNE – The Sherburne-Earlville varsity field hockey team packed their bags to travel nearly an hour north to play Sauquoit Valley high school, marking their seventh game of 2016 on Sept. 21.

Sauquoit Indians made short work of the visiting Marauders defeating them 4-0 when time expired.

“We were hoping for a win, but adjusting to the speed of playing on turf was difficult,” said S-E head coach Sheila Cooman.

The speed of the Indians on the turf field would warrant a 2-0 halftime lead over S-E.

Following the break at the half, S-E was hoping to regroup and produce a better outcome in the second, however, two more Indian goals would hand Sauquoit the win.
