Chenango Arts Council announces $129,280 available in grants
The Chenango Arts Council (CAC) is pleased to announce a continuation in funding from the New York State Council on the Arts (NYSCA) for the 2017 Broome, Chenango, and Otsego Decentralization (DEC) Grant Program.
$129,280 in grants are available through the DEC Program to non-profit organizations and artists who partner with an eligible non-profit for cultural initiatives in 2017. Funding is available for grants up to $5,000 each to support Community Arts (CA) and Arts Education (AE) grants in Broome, Chenango, and Otsego counties. The deadline to apply for grants will be January 10, 2017.
NYSCA established the DEC Program in 1977 to foster the continued development of local cultural resources responsive to community need. DEC serves all 62 counties of NYS including areas of geographic isolation, economical disadvantage, and the ethnically diverse. The basic principle of DEC re-grant funding is local decision-making using a peer panel review process.
