OXFORD – A murder investigation is underway following the autopsy results of the man found in his home Monday afternoon, Sept. 26.

According to authorities with the Chenango County Sheriff's Office, the autopsy on David Green has been conducted and his death has now been determined to be a homicide.

The cause of death has not been released by the CCSO.

Authorities said the victim appears to have been murdered in his home between Friday, September 23 in the evening and Saturday, September 24.

Sheriff Ernest R. Cutting Jr. has opened a command post at the Sheriff’s Office in Norwich, which is being staffed by members of the Sheriff’s Office and the New York State Police.
