Murder in Oxford, few details released
OXFORD – A murder investigation is underway following the autopsy results of the man found in his home Monday afternoon, Sept. 26.
According to authorities with the Chenango County Sheriff's Office, the autopsy on David Green has been conducted and his death has now been determined to be a homicide.
The cause of death has not been released by the CCSO.
Authorities said the victim appears to have been murdered in his home between Friday, September 23 in the evening and Saturday, September 24.
Sheriff Ernest R. Cutting Jr. has opened a command post at the Sheriff’s Office in Norwich, which is being staffed by members of the Sheriff’s Office and the New York State Police.
Investigators are currently following numerous leads but are asking anyone with any information to contact them at 334-2000, option 1, or 337-1935.
The Chenango County District Attorney’s Office has also been assisting in the investigation.
This has been said to be an ongoing investigation and further details will be released as they become available.
