Chenango ARC/CWS to join forces with ACHIEVE
CHENANGO COUNTY – In an effort to improve their capacity to support people with development disabilities in Chenango, Broome, and Tioga Counties, Chenango County ARC/CWS will be joining forces with ACHIEVE during 2016-2017.
Chenango County ARC/CWS and ACHIEVE are both chapters of NYSARC, Inc, the largest family governed not-for-profit agency supporting people with developmental disabilities in New York State. NYSARC supports close to 60,000 New Yorkers with developmental and other disabilities and their families through 48 chapters across counties in NYS.
“The unification of our two organizations will improve our ability to fulfill our mission of providing life-changing support for hundreds of families in Chenango, Broome, and Tioga Counties,” said Mary Jo Thorn, CEO for ACHIEVE. “By building on the strengths of both organizations, Chenango County ARC/CWS and ACHIEVE will be able to combine talents to ensure the residents of our communities who have developmental disabilities can enjoy the maximum possible integration into the community and have access to the best possible services,” Thorn said.
“We are pleased at the opportunity to unify our chapters to improve our ability to provide additional services to those in need,” said Kim Parker, Chenango ARC/CWS Board of Directors President. “We believe that the unification will make us stronger and allow us to continue to build on the strengths of both organizations.”
