Visiting Yellowjackets sting Norwich in 3-0 loss at home

NORWICH – The Norwich varsity volleyball team was looking to continue their successes in 2016 with a hopeful win over Oneonta, however, the defensive play from the lady Yellowjackets proved just enough to upturn Norwich for a 3-0 win.

In what simply was a close matchup – despite the 3-0 final score – Norwich simply could not climb the mountain that was Oneonta, as they posted set losses of 25-21, 25-22 and 25-15.

“We did not play well tonight. Girls were not focused on the game. Oneonta came to play,” said Norwich head coach Shelly Alger. “They have some great athletes and they did great defending our offense.”
