Offensive NY Mills defeats S-E with second half push

NEW YORK MILLS – The Sherburne-Earlville varsity field hockey team traveled to New York Mills for a rematch game to which despite a tied first half, fell to NY Mills 2-0.

The matchup on Oct. 5, had a halftime score of 0-0, and with the S-E lady Marauders ready to take advantage of their opportunities in the second half for a hopeful revenge road win, failed to muster the offense needed to get the job done.

“A week and a half ago we lost to the same team 5-0. Tonight we held them to a 0-0 first half. A big accomplishment for us,” said Sherburne-Earlville head coach Sheila Cooman.

With 18 shots on goal and 20 corners, NY Mills simply dominated the offensive side of the game, with S-E only managing one shot and one corner.
