AFTON – Harpursville-Afton hosted the Bainbridge Bobcats in a southern Chenango County showdown, to which the Bobcats evenly paced offense gained the 2-0 victory.

The game on Oct. 5, saw a 1-0 halftime score following a Ryan Porter score.

“Ryan Porter scored with 27:50 left in the first half on a penalty kick due to Afton/Harpursville committing a handball in the penalty area,” said Harpursville-Afton head coach Todd Dancesia.

The 1-0 lead for B-G remained that until 17:07 left in the game in the second half, when Brandon Scherhaufer sealed the victory for B-G, receiving a cross from Xavier Cherniak for the strike.
