GREENE – The lady Trojans of the varsity volleyball team played host to Sidney, in a closely skilled match, however, Greene would drop another game in 2016 following the matchup, losing 3-1.
The match that was played last Friday, Oct. 7, featured a Trojan team that showed some fight in their search for wins on the season.
Greene dropped the first set at 25-15, before shaking on the early game jitters to reverse the scores and claim the second set at 25-15 for themselves.
Following the 1-1 split to begin the match, Sidney adjusted their game plan, as they were forced to play hard for their points earned, however, would close out the match with two more set wins at 25-16, and 25-17.
No individual statistics were available for either team. Since this match date, Greene played on the road in Dryden on Tuesday, Oct. 11, but the game has yet to be reported.
Greene will now turn right around to play on the road at Walton on Wednesday, Oct. 12. The match is set to begin later on today at 6:30 p.m., and will be reported in a later edition of The Evening Sun when it is made available.
