S-E ladies swim team looking for second win of 2016

SHERBURNE – The Sherburne-Earlville ladies swim team lost its fourth out of last five meets at its meet against Adirondack last week.
S-E showed 39 points against Adirondack’s 63.
Despite the loss, S-E’s Anna Rinaldo took first in diving, with a 150.38 and the 100 backstroke, clocking at 1:20.04.
Molly Bachman finished first in the 500 freestyle, with a time of 6:22.16.
S-E also carried first in the 100 breaststroke, with Elizabeth Bachman’s time of 1:18.46.
The team’s ladies in the 200 medley relay finished four seconds faster than the Adirondack team in second place. Anna Rinaldo, Molly Bachman, Kiana Marshall and Elizabeth Bachman finished the relay in 2:15:06.
Adirondack’s team composed of Skyler Witzigman, Grace Chambers, Makenna Burr and Anna Lane came in with a time of 2:19:32.
Sherburne’s second relay team, composed of Sara Genter, Megan Hailston, Rebecca Karaman and Brooke Symonds came in fourth place with a time of 2:47.96, a nearly 20 second difference from Adirondack’s third place team.
Makenna Burr and Adrianna Ortlieb of Adirondack finished the butterfly in 1:12.81 and 1:19.33, respectively, with S-E’s Kiana Marshall finishing at 1:21.54.
The ladies attended four previous matches, taking in one win at home against Proctor in late September with a final score of 61 to 39. The S-E ladies fell short against Rome Free Academy, scoring 46, just ten points less than the team’s opponent. Against Holland Patent, the ladies closed the gap a little more, losing 47 to 55. Whitesboro also topped S-E with a final score of 55 to S-E’s 41.
The next meet for the S-E ladies is set for later on this afternoon, as they travel to West Canada Valley Central high school, on Wednesday, Oct. 12. The meet is set to have a start time of 5 p.m.
