WALTON – The Oxford Blackhawks varsity girls soccer team traveled to Walton for their last game of the season in the MAC Crossover, ultimately losing to Walton 1-0.

The game, on Oct. 12, featured a stellar stalemated first half with both squads ending the defensive struggle with a 0-0 score.

However, with 26:38 left in the game in the second half, it was Walton who found the back of the net, for the go ahead strike from Kelsey Smith.

Smith's goal was just enough to lift Walton over Oxford for the final 1-0 win to close out the 2016 season.
