West Canada Valley bests S-E

NEWPORT – Coming off a loss to Adirondack, the lady Marauder's traveled to West Canada Valley high school in Newport where they were hopeful of a win, however, lost by a close score of 51 to 47.
The meet between the two on Oct. 12, featured a S-E team that took home four first place finishes – Molly Bachman and Anna Rinaldo with two wins a piece.
• 200 Medley Relay: West Canada finished in the top spot with a time of 2:17.85, followed S-E's relay (Rinaldo, Bachman, Marshall and Bachman), who took second with a time of 2:19.54.
• 200 Freestyle: S-E's Molly Bachman took home her first top finish of the night with a time of 2:24.42, defeating Emily Schlesier of West Canada.
• 200 Individual Relay: Anna Rinaldo then claimed her first top finish in the event with a winning time of 2:48.25. In second was Olivia Johnson of West Canada with a time of 2:49.82.
• 50 Freestyle: Jordyn Conte claimed the top spot with a time of 28.38 besting Elizabeth Bachman who took second with a 29.05.
• Diving: The lone competitor in the event was Anna Rinaldo of S-E who earned some easy points for the lady Marauders, taking first with her score of 149.77.
• 100 Butterfly: Shayla Clark bested the event with a 1:13.97 taking home first, while S-E's Rachel Ryan took a second with her time of 1:42.83.
• 500 Freestyle: Molly Bachman snagged her second win on the night with her time in the event at 6:18.82 as she narrowly defeated West Canada's Devin Thomas who clocked in at 6:19.19.
• 200 Freestyle Relay: The S-E relay team (Genter, Marshall, Karaman, and Symonds) was bested by West Canada who finished with a 1:58.17 to S-E's 2:15.29.
• 100 Backstroke: Devin Thomas snatched up another win with her time of 1:23.53 edging out Rachel Ryan who finished in second at 1:33.20.
• 100 Breaststroke: Olivia Johnson took home another win on the day for West Canada when she won the closest race of the night finishing at 1:30.66, just edging out Rebecca Karaman by three tenths of a second as Karaman finished at 1:30.93.
• 400 Freestyle Relay: West Canada solidified their team win late with the relay win finishing with a time of 4:27.69. S-E (Ryan, Rinaldo, Bachman, and Bachman) came in second with a time of 4:45.88.
S-E would not manage to pull out enough of the stops in the matchup, losing to West Canada Valley on the road at 51 to 47.
