BAINBRIDGE – The first seed in the MAC league tournament, the undefeated lady Bobcats varsity volleyball team remained just that, undefeated.
The unblemished record of B-G was never in doubt, as B-G steamrolled Delhi 3-0 on Oct. 18.
It was not until the final of the three sets that B-G saw any form of stiff competition, winning their first two sets at 25-11, and 25-5. Completing the sweep of the Lumberjacks, B-G was forced to work for their final match point, although eventually earning the 25-22 win.
In the win for the Bobcats Abigail Selfridge had three aces, 10 assists, and 10 kills; Alyssa Hovey had five aces, one kill, and six digs; Erica Selfridge had seven aces, 21 assists, and four kills; Zamira Caldwell had three aces and five kills; while Alexis Carr had five kills.
In the loss for Delhi they had four standouts, Adia Vohs with four aces and five assists, Maddie Saleman with six digs and four kills, Sarah Roberts with two blocks, and Faith Spangler with five blocks.
Bainbridge-Guilford (13-0 overall, 10-0 in MAC league play, first seed) will now host Harpursville-Afton (9-2 in MAC league, second seed) in the finals of the MAC league tournament come this Friday, Oct. 21.
Delhi will play this coming Thursday, Oct. 20, in the consolation round of the tournament, however, it is unknown who they will play at this time.
