NPD, children, carve for Pumpkin Fest

NORWICH – Members of the Norwich Police Department held a pumpkin carving event with children and families, and all pumpkins carved are headed to this year’s Pumpkin Festival.

“I believe this is the first time we have had something like this at the police station,” said officer Alicia Woodard. “I look forward to having many more events like this in the years to come.”

Woodard said that the children ranged in age from one to approximately 12, and each carved pumpkins with varying facial expressions with the help of the officers.

Participating officers included Woodard, Narcotics Detective Michael Purdy, officers Burdick, Legacy, Slack, and Roberts, as well as Police Chief Rodney Marsh.
