Four Chenango County volleyball squads in sectional semifinals
CHENANGO COUNTY – The fall season of 2016 has been favorable to many of the school's volleyball programs when it comes to wins and losses.
Of the the six schools in the county to offer fall volleyball – Norwich, Oxford, Bainbridge-Guilford, Unadilla Valley, Harpursville-Afton, and Greene – five made it to the postseason, and four have now advance to the semifinals of their respective class sectional tournament.
On Nov. 3, the remaining four volleyball teams in the county – Norwich, Oxford, Bainbridge-Guilford, and Unadilla Valley – will take to the court in hopes of advancing to their Section IV finals. Each of the teams playing on Nov. 3, will be playing in a pool-play semifinal round, with the top-two teams emerging from pool-play advancing to the championship to be played in Corning on Saturday, Nov. 5.
Norwich will be on the road in Owego, and are scheduled to play at 4:30 p.m. in pool-play in the Section IV Class B tournament with Owego, Oneonta, and Johnson City.
Bainbridge-Guilford will be on the road as well in Tioga, and are scheduled to play at 4:30 p.m. in pool-play in the Section IV Class C tournament with Tioga, Watkins Glen, and Trumansburg.
And finally in the Section IV Class D tournamnet first-seed Unadilla Valley will be home, and are scheduled to play at 4:30 p.m. in pool-play when they host Candor, Delhi, and fellow Chenango County team, Oxford.
