Tenney tops opponents, takes 44 percent of vote

CHENANGO COUNTY – “I am humbled that the voters of the 22nd Congressional District have placed their trust in me to represent them in the Congress,” said Republican Claudia Tenney, who won the Congressional 22nd District Tuesday night after accumulating 44 percent of the vote. “I will provide an independent voice in Congress for the middle class families, small businesses, family farms and regular hard working people who simply don’t have a voice in Washington.”

“Running for Congress was an experience like no other,” said Tenney's opponent and Democratic candidate Kim Myers, who netted 38 percent of the vote. “We ran a very truthful campaign and I would not have done anything differently.”
