NBT makes hefty donation to Arts Council
NORWICH — This week, Chenango County's lead agency in supporting enrichment and education of local arts received a healthy shot of funding from one of the northeasts' most successful banking firms that just so happens to call Chenango County home.
NBT Bank of Norwich donated $19,000 to sponsor the Chenango Arts Council (CAC) and the organization’s efforts to build a strong and vibrant community by providing life-enriching art to residents throughout the greater Chenango region.
“NBT Bank is pleased to continue our support of the Chenango Arts Council, said NBT Bank Springstone Portfolio Manager Joe Skundrich. “The arts can have a significant impact on the quality of life in our community as well as the local economy. Many of us have personally enjoyed the various performances, classes and other cultural programs offered by the council and we are fortunate to have an organization that brings these programs to our community.”
CAC Executive Director Diane Batson-Smith said, “The Arts Council is very appreciative of NBT Bank for its ongoing support to help us build on our community’s rich arts and cultural heritage. This donation will make it possible for us to offer a diverse palette of programs including our Annual Performance Series, Chenango Film Society Series, Community Movies under the Stars, Student Art Competition and Workshops, and more.”
