United Church of Oxford presents free public concert Sunday
OXFORD – The choir, praise band, brass quintet, and woodwind ensemble of the United Church of Oxford will present a free public concert on Sunday, Dec. 11 beginning at 3 p.m.
The program will be held at the Main Street Sanctuary of the United Church, and refreshments will be served afterwards at the Chapel building next door.
The United Brass quintet will open the concert playing several Canadian Brass arrangements including 'O Holy Night,' 'God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen,' and 'Noel, el Uno.' The woodwind ensemble will present an arrangement of Christmas carols. A duet and solos sung by choir members Teresa Lawton, Diane Lewis, Lauralyn Moore, and Donna Cuyle will also be on the program.
The praise band is set to perform 'Do You Hear What I Hear?' along with Christmas pieces arranged by Chip Davis of Mannheim Steamroller fame. The concert will close with the choir performing a new Lee Dengler anthem 'Shines the Light' accompanied by Dr. Margaret Davis on the violin.
The concert is free and the public is cordially invited to attend.
