Chenango Arts Council announces ED departure

NORWICH—The Chenango Arts Council announces that their Executive Director, Diane Batson-Smith, is leaving the organization in January 2017 to pursue an Executive VP position as spokesperson under the canopy of the International Botanical Congress division of endangered cultures and botanical species.
Board members would like to congratulate Ms. Batson-Smith on her achievement.
Dominic Shea, immediate past President, commented, “This is a once in a lifetime opportunity for Diane, and I speak for the rest of the board when I say that we recognize the magnitude of this career opportunity and wish her success in her new endeavor.”
Board members immediately gathered to develop a recruitment strategy and to discuss the most efficient interim plan.
Board President, Joseph Skundrich, shared details, “To sustain the current responsibilities we delegated the role of Interim Executive Director to our PR and Marketing Director, Alecia O’Neill. Simultaneously, our search committee will develop advertising to be released within the next few days.”
According to Skundrich, board members identified strong local leaders and resources to support the organization with the search process and to identify strategies to successfully implement the transition plan. A search committee has been formed, and steps have been taken to use multiple resources to recruit the best talent to lead the organization.
Advertisement for the Executive Director position will begin in a few days and will continue into 2017. For more information contact O’Neill at 607-336-2787, or by email at alecia.oneill@chenangoarts.org.
