Blue Devils swim their way to a dominating win over the Trojans

BINGHAMTON – The Chenango Forks Blue Devils varsity swimming and diving team handing Greene a loss when they defeated the Trojans by a team score of 77-50.
The 27-point loss for Greene would heavily feature the Blue Devils as the champion at many of the 12 events on the night, on Dec. 9, however, Greene would chip away earning four overall wins.
Below is the winner at each of the twelve events:
• 200-yard medley relay: Chenango Forks relay team of Zach Palencar, Kyle Norton, Jake Kumpon, and Sam Forker won the event with a time of 1:57.05.
• 200 freestyle: CF's Aidan Houlihan earned the win at 1:58.31.
• 200 individual medley: Greene saw their first of four wins come with a Alex Sandway win at 2:30.24.
• 50 freestyle: Ethan Slocum of Forks raced to an impressive time of 26.32.
• Diving: Matt Perez dominated the diving with a score of 202.20 for the Blue Devils.
• 100 butterfly: Kyle Norton of Chenango Forks earned the win for the Blue Devils with his time of 1:03.95.
• 100 freestyle: Aidan Houlihan earned his second win on the night for his home team when he managed a time of 54.04.
• 500 freestyle: Ethan Knox of Chenango Forks earned the seventh of eight potential overall wins on the night for Chenango Forks when he managed a solid time of 6:09.91.
• 200 free relay: Greene's relay team finally notched another win for the the Trojans on the night – Matt DeJager, Dustin Markham, Alex Sandway, and Gray Reid earned the win with a time of 1:54.11.
• 100 backstroke: Dustin Markham then turned right around and impressed with a win in the very next event for Greene when he swam a time of 1:22.63.
• 100 breaststroke: Luke DeJager of Greene grabbed the final win for the Trojans with his time of 1:33.32.
• 400 freestyle relay: Chenango Fork's closed out their home meet with a time win in the relay when – Aidan Houlihan, Sam Forker, Jared Hopkins, and Ethan Knox won the event with their time of 3:49.95.
Up next for the Greene varsity swimming and diving team, they will be on the road once again when they travel to Chenango Valley High School to take on the Warriors on Dec. 16, at 5:30 p.m.
