Greene School district halts superintendent search, Daniels to serve in official capacity
GREENE—The Greene Board of Education has announced that the superintendent search process will conclude without the appointment of a candidate.
The announcement comes more than a month after the board made it known that a candidate had been preliminarily selected, pending further discussion and contract negotiations.
“We realized late in this process that the district will be best served under the continued leadership of Mr. Gordon Daniels,” Board President Ethan Day said in a statement. “He already has the confidence of stakeholders and forward momentum necessary to strengthen our school district. We would be wrong to pivot prematurely from the progress he’s making.”
