HANCOCK – The matchup between the two varsity bowling teams gave way to a Greene win on the boys side, followed by a Hancock win on the girls side.
Greene traveled to Hancock on Dec. 16, where the boys secured a 3-1 victory of Hancock while also snagging the total pins by a close margin at 2,446-2,363.
Bowling a game high for Greene was Mike Willard who in his second game secured a 204 on the day for the team high. Willard would subsequently secure the series high for the Trojans at 546.
On the Hancock side, it was Matt Karcher who ran away with the series high of 529. However, despite Karcher's series high of 529, it was Thomas Shoonmaker who snagged a 201 for a game high – reaching a second place 526 series.
On the girls side, Greene suffered through a 0-4 loss to Hancock, while also dropping to Hancock on the total in count at 2,048-1,712.
Bowling a game high for the lady Trojans was Vicki Floury who grabbed a 169 in her third game for a 416 series. Despite the series above 400 and a snagging the game high it was Greene's Morgan Ayres who took home the team series high with a 450.
On the Hancock side it was all Brenna Gleim, who took home two games above 200 – 220 in the second game and 211 in the final game. Gleim grabbed the game high at 220, while also taking the series high at an impressive 603.
Next up for Greene bowling, they will head to Norwich for the Norwich Holiday Tournament at Plaza Lanes on Wednesday, Dec. 28, at 10 a.m.
