GREENE – The Trojans of Greene hosted the Oxford Blackhawks this past Wednesday evening, to which the lady Blackhawks came away with a dominating win, only to see the Trojan boys take their win in commanding fashion as well.
On the boys side it was all Greene who swept Oxford for a 4-0 win during the matchup, Jan. 4. Taking the series high on the Greene side was Jakob Funnell who rolled his way to a 539 series. Taking the Greene game high was Funnell as well when he snagged a 188 in the second game, only to follow that up with a 183 in the third.
As for Oxford on the boys side, it was Corey Turner who produced the best outing for the Blackhawks. Turner bowled a 460 series while also taking the team game high at 184 in his third game.
The total pin-count for the boys matchup was weighted heavily in Greene's favor as Greene earned the win at 4-0, with a pin count of 2,446-1,979.
On the girls side, it proved to be a near mirror image to the boys outing. Oxford claimed the win over host Greene at 4-0, by a total pin-count of 2,107-1,898.
Rolling a series high for Oxford was Jourdan Pinney who snagged the award with her 489 series. Impressively for Oxford, they managed to see three bowlers go over the 400 mark, as Destiny Beang grabbed a 477 series, and Erin Howard too a 486 series. The game high would in fact go to Destiny Beang with her 212 in her first game. Also bowling a 200 game was Pinney who snagged a 209 in her final game.
On the Greene side, it was dominated by Courtney Pratt, Pratt rolled the game and series for the lady Trojans when she led her team with a 427 series and a 197 game high.
Up next for Oxford bowling, they will be heading to Hancock on Frdiay, Jan. 6, at 3:45 p.m.; while Greene will see their next action at home against Sidney on Friday, Jan. 6, at 3:45 p.m.
