Lady Bobcats can’t be stopped

BAINBRIDGE – The Bainbridge-Guilford girl’s varsity basketball team put their perfect record on the season to the test last Friday, Jan. 27, against Walton, and once again came out victors on a final score of 55-29.
The B-G offense came out firing, and shot 17 points in the first quarter alone - all the while stifling their opponents - who were limited to just four points.
Their offense faltered a little in the second, as they notched just six points, but they brought their offense prowess right back after the interval, logging 16 points in each of the final two quarters to calmly close out a 26-point win.
The Selfridge sisters shone once again in this game, each scoring 15 points respectively, while Megan Palmatier added another 10 points, along with 12 rebounds in the victory.

The B-G boy’s varsity basketball team also took on Walton over the weekend, and followed in the footsteps of the undefeated girl’s, winning the game on a scoreline of 63-45 to move to 6-7 on the season.
A consistent performance on the offensive end of the court was key for the Bobcats in the win, as they scored at least 16 in all three quarter except the first, in which they recorded 13 points.
The difference in this game also came at the charity stripe. B-G went 16 for 23 in the game, a 70 percent record, in comparison to their opponents, who hit just five out of 15 free-throws on the night, a 33 percent record.
Best in the win for the Bobcats were Trevor Halaquist, who was the game’s top scorer, hitting 21 points, and Sean Jones, who added 12 points in his side’s win.
