Support group gathers again for parents of deceased children
NORWICH – It has been said that no parent should ever have to bury their child.
On Wednesday, February 15, local grassroots organization 'Beyond Words' will hold their second gathering at the Norwich Family YMCA at 7 p.m. in an effort to provide support and solace to parents who have tragically lost a child.
'Beyond Words' strives to give parents an opportunity to share their stories and perspective in an informal, supportive setting, regardless of the circumstances that led to the tragedy, according to a media release from the organization.
The group says that the meetings are not meant to be considered therapy or counseling – rather they are aiming to provide a safe place to share stories to those who have suffered such a loss that is difficult to put into words.
'Beyond Words' held their first meeting on January 18. According to the group, their intention is to meet roughly monthly. While the group is intended to serve parents who have been affected by the loss of a child, anyone who is eager to offer their support to affected parents are welcome and encouraged to attend.
The meetings require no sign-up or membership, and are all open to the public.

The Norwich Family YMCA is located at 68 North Broad Street in Norwich.
