Police say deputy followed suspect through hidden access panels before apprehension
SHERBURNE- Jory D. Page, 30, of Sherburne was arrested for an active bench warrant and resisting arrest on March 5, after Chenango County Sheriff’s Deputies and the Sherburne Police responded to the area of North Main Street in the Village of Sherburne. Law enforcement arrived after receiving information of a possible location of a male who had an active Bench Warrant.
During the attempt to locate Page, Deputies received information that Page was spotted fleeing inside an apartment building. The Chenango County Sheriff’s K-9 team of Deputy O’Hara and K-9 Jeroen, made entry into the building and K-9 Jeroen was deployed to locate the fleeing suspect.
After K-9 Jeroen made a detailed search of the building and returned to his handler, deputies made a secondary search of the apartment building finding a hidden access panel in the ceiling.
It was reported that deputies then made entry into the attic area and followed the ridge line of the building, which led them to another access panel that led to another apartment.
Jory D. Page was found hiding inside the apartment and taken into custody without incident.
Page was arraigned in the Town of North Norwich Court where he was remanded to the Chenango County Correctional Facility on $500 cash bail. Page is set to appear in the Village of Sherburne Court at a later date.
Page is presumed innocent until found guilty in a court of law.
