Otselic Valley Vikings fall to McGraw

OTSELIC – The Otselic Valley varsity baseball team suffered their first loss of the season last Thursday, April 13, as they were simply overpowered by McGraw on a final score of 8-2.
The Vikings loss came as a result of their offensive woes. Otselic Valley mustered up just two hits for the game.
On the mound – although pitcher Trent McCarthy put in a stellar performance, striking out 11 over five and two-thirds innings of work – McCarthy also gave up seven hits, and three earned runs to the opposition.
McGraw’s Brendan May was a force to be reckoned with at the plate for McGraw in the win, as he went two-for-four, with two doubles. He also drove in two runs.
Best in the loss for the Vikings at the plate were Carter Rood and Peter Kalin, who each went one-for-three on the day, with an RBI apiece.
Otselic Valley, (1-1 overall), will be hoping to rebound from this bump in the road and return to winning ways when they host Brookfield this Wednesday, April 19. First pitch in that matchup is scheduled for 4:30 p.m.
