UHS CMH observes National Volunteer Week
NORWICH – In observing National Volunteer Week from April 23 to April 29, UHS Chenango Memorial Hospital (CMH) has extended a gracious thank you to the volunteers that have helped keep the local hospital up to the standard it keeps.
“During National Volunteer Week, we at UHS Chenango Memorial Hospital would like to take this opportunity to thank our many volunteers for their selfless dedication to our organization and the people we serve,” said Julie Clark, Director of Volunteer Services at UHS CMH. “We truly appreciate all that they do to strengthen our hospital, which in turn strengthens our community.”
According to Clark, there are many roles that volunteers play at UHS CMH, including providing services and support to employees, patients, and residents, and not to mention playing an implement role in the Auxiliary’s fundraising efforts.
Clark also noted that volunteers at UHS CMH have opportunities to work in most service areas, including the Pink Door Thrift Shop in Norwich, and also the hospital’s very own Gift Shop. It’s reported that the hospitals volunteers’ ages vary from 14 years to 94 years young.
“Both patients and staff benefit from [volunteers’] support, reliability, cheerfulness, kindness, and empathy,” said Clark.
UHS CMH’s volunteers will be honored at its annual luncheon on May 17.
