Depew and Beckwith lead Oxford to 5-3 win over Delhi

DELHI – It was another day on the diamond for the Oxford Blackhawks who picked up their third win on the season against the Delhi Bulldogs on Thursday May 4, advancing with the 5-3 win.

Despite the Blackhawks taking the lead early in the top of the first inning, they did not claim the lead for good until the third inning of play.

With the Bulldogs leading 2-1, Oxford uncorked two more runs to take the lead at 3-2. The Blackhawks managed to score again in the fifth and seventh innings, all while Oxford pitcher Austin Crawford blanked the hometown Bulldogs, not allowing a run until the bottom of the seventh.

Crawford picked up the victory on the day, going the distance throwing for all seven innings, allowing five hits, five walks and striking out eight Delhi batters in the process.
