Norwich Track and Field claims double divisional championship

BINGHAMTON – The Norwich boys and girls Track and Field team has been busy – busy winning their division for the 2017 season, with a double-win over Chenango Valley on Monday.
The Tornado boys downed the Warriors by a score of 91-50 – while the lady Tornado earned a division win by way of a 92-47 win.
The Purple Tornado, saw much less success on the boys side – despite the win ultimate win – taking only one personal best time and winning ten of the 16 events. This divisional win marks the second year in a row that the Norwich boys have won.
Top finisher for each event:
• 110m hurdles – Ky’sawn Veale of Norwich, first-place at 16.3 (personal best time)
• 4x800m relay – Norwich’s team of Gabe Gawronski, Ben Ericksen, Noah Bufalini, and Connor Nial, first-place at 12:54
• 100m – Zack Race of Norwich, first-place at 11.9
• 1600m – Ben Ericksen of Norwich at 5:02.1
• 4x100m relay – Chenango Valley at 47.6 (Norwich left the zone during a hand off)
• 400m – Scott Tomanocy of Norwich, first-place at 55.3
