Chenango Arts Council 16th annual Allegro 5k run

NORWICH – Many gathered in the streets of Norwich, New York for a a rainy Saturday of running the mainstay 5k Allegro Run.
The run is put on each year by the Chenango Arts Council. Winning this year, in the make division was Norwich High School senior Ben Ericksen, with a time of 17:07. Taking the female division for the win was Dorothy Collison, with a time of 20:12.
Ericksen, an avid distance runner and Collison, a member of the CNY FIT running club – both have plenty of experience weathering the stormy spring weather of upstate New York.
Notably, the CNY FIT running club is located right in Norwich, and has members from all around Chenango County.
The group acts as a backbone to encourage new runners to have a base to begin their running lifestyles.
“The CNY FIT Running Club is a group that was formed in 2015 to unite the local running community, introduce new runners to our passion and offer a structured, weekly schedule to mentor, motivate and challenge all involved. For runners of all fitness levels, from new beginners, focusing on learning the basics of running, to advanced for seasoned runners, focusing on speed and distance. Come run with us,” reads the club’s mission statement.
