NORWICH – As part of its upcoming spring concert, “Blame it on the Movies,” the Mid-York Concert Band has prepared a tribute to the men and women of our country's armed forces.
Band Director Mark Sands has confirmed that like last year, a portion of the band's performance will be dedicated to the nation's veterans.
It's reported that vocalist Micheal Moren will be joining the band in performing the song, “Armed Forces, the Pride of America.”
Additionally, guest vocalist and Norwich High School student Aria Maholchic will perform the hit-song “Let it Go” from the Disney animated feature film, “Frozen.”
The program will also include John Williams' “Midway March” from the movie “Midway,” as well as other recognizable tunes such as “The Pirates of the Caribbean,” “The Blues Brothers Revue,” “Bond...James Bond,” “Dr. Who, Time and Space,” the theme from “The Magnificent Seven,” and more.
The band would like to invite the community – especially men and women in the area who have served in the armed forces – to attend the spring concert.
The concert will take place on Sunday, May 21, at 2 p.m. in the Norwich High School auditorium.
While admission to the show is free, the band accepts free-will offerings.
