Stockbridge rolls over the Vikings
OTSELIC – With the Vikings winless in their first nine games on the year they looked to grab their first ‘W’ against their opponent in the Stockbridge Valley Cougars who entered Monday’s game with a record of 10-4.
By the end of the game, it was all business for the Cougars who mauled the Vikings for all 21 of their runs over the first three innings.
Despite the Cougars only hitting two extra base hits, it was their patience at the plate that allowed to their decisive victory as Viking’s pitcher Jolanda Ponce walked 11 batters all while giving up 19 hits on the afternoon.
Otselic Valley recorded three hits on the afternoon, Grace Costa, Ponce and Alexis Hazzard all recorded one hit a piece.
Today, Wednesday, May 17, the Otselic Valley girls softball team will host their senior night against Madison as the Viking’s team honors and celebrates their lone senior Lauren Kenyon on a great high school athletic career.
