Local 9-year-old gymnastics enthusiast to compete in World Championship

WILDWOOD, NJ – Nine-year-old Molly Sheridan of Norwich competed in the USAIGC Gymnastics Regional Competition in Wildwood, NJ on Saturday, May 27, where her performance qualified her to compete in the USAIGC Gymnastics World Championship in Reno, NV at the end of this month.
Sheridan – who has competed for the last four years with Head Over Heels Gymnastics in Vestal – originally qualified to compete in regionals by attaining an overall score of above-33.0 at local meets throughout her regular season.
“Molly is very devoted to the sport,” said Sheridan’s mother, Krista Sheridan. “If she is not at practice, she’s practicing at home. She loves gymnastics.”
Sheridan’s performance at the regional competition saw her earn 8th place overall on bars in her age group, as well as a medal for her cumulative score which earned her 18th place overall.
Molly is slated to travel to Reno, NV for the USAIGC Gymnastics World Championship from June 26 to June 30, which will take place at the Peppermill Resort and Casino.
