Elks hit a grand slam for Norwich Oxford Little League

NORWICH – On Saturday May 20, 2017 The Benevolent Protective Order of Elks, Lodge #1222 in Norwich, held a Chicken BBQ to benefit Norwich Oxford Little League (NOXLL).
Many members of the lodge helped make sides for the dinners, cook the chicken, and sell the dinners and halves of chicken. In addition, the lodge made a donation in the form of a $400 check to NOXLL.
The lodge members were joined in this venture by many players, parents and coaches – primarily from the girls softball side of the program. Many of the players and parents took to the streets with signs and chicken suites to advertise and entice customers.
Various parents thoughtfully donated many baked goods for our bake sale on sight – which was said to be ‘a hit’.
A 50/50 raffle was promoted and the winners of the drawing – Eric and Jessica Colley – donated the winnings back to the league.
NOXLL Softball Vice President P.J. Quattrocchi would like to thank everyone involved from the Elks Lodge, parents, players and the local community that came out to support the league and make this event a success.
