NEW YORK STATE – The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) has designated this Saturday and Sunday, June 24 and 25, to be a free fishing weekend in the State of New York.
Any NYS resident is invited to fish both the fresh and marine waters of the state on June 24 and 25 with no fishing license or other recreational marine fishing registry required.
The DEC notes that all other freshwater and saltwater fishing regulations still apply.
The next and final free fishing opportunity in New York State of the year following this weekend is scheduled for November 11, 2017.
