22-year-old faces multiple felonies involving minor; $25k bail set

NORWICH – A 22-year-old sits in the local jail after having been accused of crimes involving a minor.
Tyler W. Streeter, of Norwich, faces four charges after his arrest by Detective-Sergeant Reuben Roach of the Norwich Police Department.
Strata was charged with use of a child in a sexual performance, a class C felony; disseminating indecent material to minors in the first degree, a class D felony; forcible touching, a class A misdemeanor; and endangering the welfare of a child, a class A misdemeanor.
Per a release from the NPD, the charge of use of a child in a sexual performance alleges Streeter, knowing the character and content thereof, he employed, authorized or induced a child less than seventeen years of age to engage in a sexual performance.
Further, the charge of dissemination of indecent material to minors in the first degree alleges Streeter, 1. Knowing the character and content of the communication which, in whole or in part, depicted or described, either in words or images actual or simulated nudity, sexual conduct or sado-masochistic abuse, and which was harmful to minors, he intentionally used any computer communication system allowing the input, output, examination or transfer, of computer data or computer programs from one computer to another, to initiate or engage in such communication with a person who was a minor; and; 2. by means of such communication he importuned, invited or induced a minor to engage in sexual intercourse, … sexual contact with him, or to engage in a sexual performance, obscene sexual performance, or sexual conduct for his benefit.
The charge of forcibly touching alleges that Streeter forcibly touched the sexual or other intimate parts of another person for the purpose of degrading or abusing such person, or for the purpose of gratifying the actor’s sexual desire.
According to police, the incidents happened last year.
Streeter was arraigned in Norwich City Court Monday afternoon before Judge James Downey and he was remanded to the Chenango County Correctional Facility in lieu of $25,000 cash bail. Streeter is scheduled to reappear in Norwich City Court on Friday June 30, 2017.
Streeter is presumed innocent until found guilty in a court of law.
