Edmeston PONY League team remains unbeaten, downs Cherry Valley-Springfield 9-2

EDMESTON – Despite being outhit five to three at the plate, the steadfast Edmeston ball players pulled out the 9-2 win on Thursday night, June 29.

It looked to be a battle in the early innings as Cherry Valley-Springfield took the 2-1 lead after the first inning. However, that proved to be it – CV-S failed to bring home another run the entire game.

Edmeston added six runs in the bottom of the second inning to take the commanding 7-2 lead – only to tack on one run in the third and the final run in the fifth.

“CV-S walked five batters in the second inning and eight for the game,” said Edmeston head coach Jay Lyon. “Josh Martin and Andy Vesely both scored twice for Edmeston.”

Taking the win for Edmeston on the mound was Parker Robinson, who was assisted by Tyler Jennings (4) Nate Jennings (7) and Garrett Lum.
