Authorities: Victim found burglar inside home

GREENE – A 23-year-old sits at the local jail following his arrest on burglary charges.

It was reported to The Evening Sun Friday morning that Geraldo Rivera, of Greene, was arrested by members of the Chenango County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) earlier this month.

Per a release from the CCSO, Rivera was arrested August 6, 2017, and was found inside the victim’s residence by the victim.

Rivera was subsequently charged with burglary in the second degree, a class C felony.

Rivera was arraigned in the Town of Greene court following his arrest and was sent to the Chenango County Correctional Facility in lieu of $10,000 cash bail.

Members of the Sheriff’s Office were assisted at the scene by the New York State Police.

Rivera is presumed innocent until found guilty in a court of law.
