Afton Soccer blanked by Walton
AFTON – The Afton Crimson Knights boys soccer team were blasted by the Walton Warriors – losing 5-0 on Monday, August 28.
Walton secured a massive offensive push on Monday, sending 22 shots on goal toward the Afton net – with five total landing.
Walton saw Will Kleisner score one goal, Tom Maguire score two goals with one assist, Tracer Howland score two goals, and Owen Pieper, Isaac Vesterfelt, and Ethan Wood help out with one assist a piece.
By the halftime break, Afton fell into a 3-0 hole – a hole that only grew.
Walton’s goalkeeper, Kaiden Vernold, wasn’t needed much in the shutout win, making no saves due to the low offense generated from Afton.
The Crimson Knights used Christian Noyes to secure 15 saves on the night, a solid effort that fell flat due to the final score.
Next up for Afton, they will be playing home on Thursday, August 31, against Unadilla Valley at 4:30 p.m.
