Norwich soccer drops another close contest

NORWICH – After falling to non-league foe Bainbrigde-Guilford over the weekend, the Purple Tornado boys soccer team emerged ready to host a home game against the always deadly Chenango Valley Warriors.
Norwich dropped their second game of the season, falling to CV by a final score of 1-0 on Monday, August 28.
However, despite the ultimate loss for the Tornado boys, the early week contest proved to be a solid halftyime game, as the score remained knotted at 0-0.
It was Chenango Valley’s William Clark who snuck a strike past Norwich’s goalkeeper – Dylan Gladstone, who managed six saves in the game – earning CV’s lone goal just 7:47 into the second half of play.
Norwich would show some efforts on the offensive end, sending three shots toward the goal.
With the loss, Norwich boys soccer falls to 0-2 overall and will play next against Susquehanna Valley at home at 10 a.m.
