10k expected to attend Greene Labor Day Celebration

GREENE – Event organizers are gearing-up for the 98th annual Greene Labor Day Celebration slated for this Monday, September 4 at Ball Flats Park.

10,000 or more people are expected to attend the free event beginning at 8 a.m. and continuing all day. The celebration will end with a fireworks show at 8:45 p.m.

Organizers say the celebration will include plenty of games, midway rides, food options, a horse show, music, and a car show for attendees to enjoy.

The fun will extend beyond Ball Flats Park as well: on Genesee Street, organizers say there will be hose fights and a parade.

Additionally, the Greene Community Labor Day Picnic Association will hold its 5k Road Race at Lions Park Lane beginning at 9 a.m. Check-in is from 8 a.m. to 8:45 a.m., and it is $19 to participate. Funds raised from the race will serve to benefit the Greene Community Labor Day Picnic Association, Inc.
