Local grassroots group Chenango Change to meet Wednesday

NORWICH – Local grassroots organization Chenango Change is calling on progressives everywhere to attend its next meeting this Wednesday, September 13 at the United Church of Christ in Norwich from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.


Chenango Change founder Eileen Andrews says this meeting’s guest speakers will be candidate for the 22nd Congressional District Heath Phillips, as well as Democrat candidate for Norwich City Court Judge, Maureen Byrnes.


The group’s mission statement is to be, “an inclusive, grassroots movement of engaged citizens committed to providing Chenango County with opportunities and ideas that promote progressive values through community education, mobilization, and political action.”

“It started after the Women’s March, but it’s really morphed to take on a whole new meaning,” said Andrews. “We want to help and we want fairness for all. We aren’t necessarily only representing Democrats or Republicans––we are progressives.”
