Valley Heights scores first win of season, Davis nets a hat trick

OSWEGO — Valley Heights girls soccer traveled to Oswego on Tuesday night to take on the Lady Royals, Valley Heights came ready to play, emerging with a 6-0 win.

Junior Meghan VanAlthuis dribble the length of the field from her normal defensive position as she found holes in the Lady Royals defense and nailed one in the back of the net. Teammates Emily Davis and Freshman Madison VanAlthuis each chipped in a goal as Valley Heights grabbed a fast 3-0 score before the half.

The Crusaders wouldn’t let the intermission slow them down. Out of the gate to start the second half, Davis would complete her hat trick on two nice shots, tallying the score to 5-0 for the Crusaders.

Madison VanAlthuis would score the sixth and final goal for Valley Heights from a ball that was crossed nicely in front of the goal by Freshman Briannah Downey.

The lady Crusder defense held strong, not letting anything past them. The 6-0 final score would give the Lady Crusader’s their first win of the season.
